gathering 2022 Accommodations
USMB Gathering 2022 will be held at Stoney Creek Hotel and Conference Center in Independence, Missouri, a suburb of Kansas City.
A small oasis awaits at Stoney Creek, where a lake, waterfall, park and 2-mile walking trail provide a beautiful backdrop for the hotel, which with its large wood beams, outdoor themes and modern rustic décor has a lodge-type feel. The conference center is located inside the hotel and all sessions and meals will be on the same level. There are two elevators to the guest rooms on the floors above.
Stoney Creek received the “Certificate of Excellence, 2019” award from TripAdvisor. The hotel is also supported by the Kansas City Royals and the Kansas City Chiefs ball teams. Their stadiums are located six miles west of the hotel. As the address indicates, a large Bass Pro Shop is located adjacent to the hotel. There are many restaurants, shopping and entertainment opportunities in this area just off Interstate 70.
Independence is a unique historical city of pioneer and civil war history. The city, named after the Declaration of Independence, was the starting point for the three primary trails into the American Frontier: the Santa Fe, California and Oregon Trails. Various museums, trails and tours are available. It was also a stopping place for the Mormon migration west to Utah, and has numerous related museums and attractions. Parents: Childcare and youth activities are provided for all sessions and workshop times. Please have your small children use the restroom before each session. Please also pick up your children for meals. You may want to provide a water bottle and sunscreen for each child.
Snacks will be provided.
Nursery (0-3): Play and some outdoor time
Preschool/Elementary (4-11): Will use the Rocky Railway VBS curriculum for the morning sessions plus Friday afternoon. Outside play and walk to the Waterfall Park area behind the hotel. Evenings: movies, games, free play.
Youth (12-18): Activities will include morning devotions, Main Event entertainment center, walks, games/olympics, movies, ice cream, and attending parts of some of the sessions.
