Each year, hundreds of Mennonite Brethren youth gather for ASCENT, USMB’s national high school summer camp. Designed to complement the work of the local church, ASCENT helps students grow as disciples of Jesus through shared experiences that deepen faith and community.

  • Morning devotionals center campers on Scripture, prayer and reflection—setting their focus on Jesus at the start of each day.
  • Main sessions inspire awe through worship and challenge hearts through biblical teaching.
  • Workshops and interactive tracks invite students to explore topics that matter to them and recognize God’s presence in every part of life—at camp and beyond.

ASCENT doesn’t end when camp is over. Youth groups return home with renewed unity and a shared passion for following Jesus, opening doors for continued discipleship and transformation in their local churches.

As Southern District Youth Minister Russ Claassen says: “As I listen to students share testimonies in their local churches—many times at baptisms—I often hear summer camp experiences highlighted as significant spiritual markers and turning points in their lives.”

ASCENT Worship

USMB gives an annual donation to USMB NextGen to support ASCENT, keeping registration cost low for campers. Your partnership makes ASCENT possible.

The next camp is planned for June 27-July 1, 2026, in Lexington, Neb. Your gift helps create sacred spaces where young people encounter Jesus, grow in faith and live as disciples in their everyday lives.

Your Giving Tuesday gift will help raise up the next generation of disciples through ASCENT.
