Purpose of Ministry: The overall mission and purpose of North Fresno Church is to help the church live into Jesus’ invitation and command to love God and love others. The Facilities Technician plays a significant role in providing a safe and clean space for ministry to happen.

Qualifications:
- Strong mechanical skills and knowledge of plumbing, HVAC and other building systems
- Proficiency with repair tools and techniques
- Good communication and interpersonal skills, including the ability to speak with all levels of employees, guests, and vendors.
- Great time management, organization and prioritization abilities
- Keen attention to detail and efficient problem-solving skills
- Ability to lift heavy equipment and comfortable standing or walking for long periods of time
Legal eligibility to be employed in the U.S. is required.
Specific Duties and Responsibilities:
- Maintain all buildings in working condition
- Hire contractors for specialized issues
- Window washing
- Painting
- Kitchen maintenance
- Heating/cooling systems
- Lighting (indoor/outdoor)
- Maintain and clean signs on campus
- Fix broken equipment (tables, chairs, drinking fountains, signs, etc.)
- Repair damaged facility (broken doors, holes in walls, etc.)
- Contact person for special projects
- Develop volunteer staff
- Recruit and oversee volunteer coordinators for special projects
- Act as liaison for service contractors for major projects (roof, solar, etc.)
- Maintain the grounds
- Pick up trash, etc.
- Oversee landscaping
- Maintain sprinkler systems
- Tree pruning
- Keep garbage and recycling bin area clean
- Security of premises
- Oversee security cameras
- Address homeless people sleeping on campus
- Regular walk through of premises to check on security issues
- Work with hired security for the safety of the premises
- Work with police after theft
- Review security camera footage when necessary
- Work to maintain compliance with safety codes (Yearly Maintenance Overview Plan)
- Coordinate fire and safety inspections
- Communicate with staff evacuation and safety procedures
- Schedule routine maintenance and repair of the fire alarm system
- Oversee First Aid Kits supplies
- Create and maintain safety paperwork in general assembly areas
- Schedule Routine elevator maintenance
- Conduct kitchen inspections
- Training in AED (automated external defibrillator)
- Monthly charging of AED
- Maintain compliance
- Coordinate fire and safety inspections
- Oversee Secondary staff positions related to Facilities
- Oversee Facilities Assistant (10 hours, Sunday mornings and Wednesday night set up/lock up)
- Sign timecards
- Do regular evaluations
- Communicate Sunday morning and Wednesday evening responsibilities to Facilities Assistant
- Oversee and assist in set-up of major events
- Oversee janitorial staff
- Be liaison between staff and janitor (maybe this is obvious)
- Write/adjust job description and cleaning schedule
- Conduct evaluations as needed
- Alert when there are events
- Provide all new staff with an overview of the campus and safety procedures
- Oversee Facilities Assistant (10 hours, Sunday mornings and Wednesday night set up/lock up)
- Attend staff meetings
- Manage the budget for this area of responsibility
Relationships:
- Accountable to Lead Pastor
- Will work in cooperation with NFC Staff & Leadership Time:
- Attend weekly staff meetings Tuesday mornings
- 20-25 hours per week
Compensation:
- Hourly employee.
- $16.50/hour.
- All expenses are reimbursed within the Facilities Church Budget
- Position is temporary during the Introductory Period of 90 days. Upon completion of Introductory Period an evaluation will be performed.
