Welcome to the NEW Snapshot!

The NEW Snapshot is now a brief, twice-monthly note from Don Morris including timely prayer requests. Keeping our MB family informed is a priority. We pray this new format will help accomplish that.

In 1 Timothy 2:1-2, Paul encourages/urges Timothy to make requests, prayers, intercessions and thanksgiving for everyone (all people), even for those in authority. The reason for those prayers is so that we might live peaceful and quiet lives in all godliness and holiness.

That is profound encouragement. I encourage each of us to pray for one another, to make intercession for one another and also to give thanks to God for all He is doing among us. I’d like to take the opportunity to ask you to pray for me as well. There are many things happening in our family of churches, and I and other leaders very much need God’s wisdom and guidance.

Here are a few things to be praying for:

  1. USMB is searching for just the right person to be our Church Planting Mobilizer. Every day at 5:14 p.m., I and the Church Planting Council (CPC) are seeking God’s favor for providing this person. The CPC meets via Zoom on Jan. 13. See the mobilizer job description here: https://usmb.org/job/usmb-church-planting-mobilizer/
  2. The Congolese Task Force continues to engage with many Congolese pastors and leaders. Be in prayer for these interactions and for guidance for how to best serve these many pastors and churches, some of whom are approaching us for membership.
  3. Planning continues for the National Pastors’ Orientation (NPO) scheduled for March 28-30 in San Diego. Several pastors/spouses who are new to our MB family are expected to attend. COVID issues/potential meeting obstacles are always a concern for gatherings these days.
  4. The USMB Gathering 2022 planning team is completing plans for our gathering this summer, July 26-30, in north Kansas City (Independence, Mo.). We have a few details left to finalize. Please pray for the planning team and for good attendance from our MB family.
  5. The brand new Leadership Pipeline is launching! LP mobilizers Kyle Goings, Russ Claassen and Heidi Quiring will lead this program to help build relationships with young leaders and provide them with connections with MB churches for internships and ministry growth opportunities. A new website is being created for the pipeline. The team will meet soon.

I hope you enjoy this more frequent communication. Thanks for your prayers!
