GROUP 2

A Strategy of  Mission: Advancing Mission Locally, Nationally and Globally – MB Mission
God’s missionary work in the world is accomplished through his church.  What does that mean for my local church?  What does it mean to participate together with other churches? Where do we focus our attention in this season of our church’s story to be part of mission locally, nationally, and globally?  Come along – ideally with a few people from your church – for a journey through MB Mission’s Strategy Map to engage these questions and more.

Exploring Mormonism – Paul Robie

Immigration / Welcoming Your Neighbor – Mennonite Central Committee (MCC) Panel
Panel speakers: Dina Gonzalez-Piña, Ethnicity and Gender Equity Specialist. Jill Schellenberg, Tabor College Assistant Professor of Criminology and Restorative Justice; Representative to MCC U.S. Board. Nate Yoder, MCC West Coast Executive Director.
Few things stir more passion and controversy in the U.S. than the issue of immigration. What do Jesus and the Bible teach us and show us about how we approach and respond to this vital issue? The response of the church has significant impact on advancing the gospel, on our commitment to diversity and on our effectiveness to our Christian witness. In this workshop we will explore this issue through the lens of scripture, through testimony and through understanding current U.S. law.

Pass it On! Discipling Children – J.L. Martin
Join other imperfect parents (including the leader) as we gather together to talk about how to point our children to Christ. This will NOT be your typical parenting workshop that you leave feeling guilt and shame. You will not walk out thinking about what more you need to do or how you need to try harder as a parent. Instead, let’s look at how grace and the gospel changes our parenting.
