    • When anxiety takes root
In the fall of 2019, my church offered a five-week home group study on the topic of anxiety. Little did we know just how vital these small groups would prove as 2020 rolled around the corner. To this day, I keep a handwritten note identifying three areas that stirred a sense of anxiety within me. […]
    • Harris driven by desire to connect with nonbelievers
Brian Harris remembers asking about faith in third grade, but no one had answers for life’s biggest questions. “I wish I had met somebody who could have explained the gospel to me,” says Harris, who grew up in a nominal Christian household in Ohio. “For at least six years, I was asking anybody who would […]
    • Coming home
In my Jan/Feb column I wrote about the influence of secularism in the American church today and how it can skew our focus and even lead us away from living in God’s truth. I wrote that only a small percentage of Christians in America today hold a true biblical worldview. With this in mind, what […]
  • What We Do
    • Church Multiplication
      •
Church planting continues to be a crucial area of ministry for USMB. Studies show churches are the most effective way to bring more people into the family of God. Partnering with local churches, districts, USMB and Multiply to plant churches, is not just a good thing to do, we must do it.
    • Disciple-Making
      •
USMB is actively involved in helping provide our churches with dynamic ideas, resources and programs for helping people become fully-devoted followers of Jesus. Jesus said, “Go and make disciples ….” We strive to facilitate that profound command.
    • Leadership Development
      •
USMB’s leadership development strategy stems from the real need to actively develop more leaders within the local church who are living on mission in the workplace and in their communities and to fulfill the demand for additional pastors, church planters and missionaries. Historical Commission

The Mennonite Brethren Historical Commission is responsible for fostering historical understanding and appreciation within the Mennonite Brethren Church in Canada and the United States. It fulfills this goal by:

  • Coordinating the collection, preservation and cataloging of Mennonite Brethren conference archival records, in cooperation with a network of Mennonite Brethren archival centers.
  • Publishing books related to the history and theology of the Mennonite Brethren Church, many of which are now readable online.
  • Offering project grants and summer internships to promote ongoing Mennonite Brethren historical research.
  • Publishing the Profiles of Mennonite Faith series of inspirational faith stories.
