Webinar: The Realities and Myths of Human Trafficking: What is Our Role?

This webinar is one of an open MB series exploring the spiritual life titled, The Realities and Myths of Human Trafficking: What is Our Role?

This webinar is led by Christa Wiens, education coordinator at the Central Valley Justice Coalition who sees prevention as the key to these tragic issues. Christa is also a mother with a heart for young people and attends North Fresno Church in Fresno, Calif.

The International Labour Organization estimates that there are 40.3 million victims of human trafficking in the world today, but it’s not just happening somewhere “over there,” it’s happening in large and small cities across our country–and even in our churches. Christa will teach us some realities of human trafficking, combat some common myths and discuss how we as churches can both acknowledge our role in knowingly and unknowingly contributing to trafficking–and lead the way in bringing an end to it.

The webinar series was initiated by the U.S. Board of Faith and Life (BFL) and is co-sponsored by the FPBS Center for Anabaptist Studies (CABS) and the U.S. Conference of Mennonite Brethren Churches (USMB.)
